Learn how to become a professional DJ, with classes taught in English and Spanish in central Barcelona with On Tempo DJ Academy! It doesn’t matter which style you want to play; Electronic house, techno, progressive, trance, D&B, breaks, hip hop, indie dance, or even disco classics… Whether it be digital or vinyl, this academy has got you covered.
Lessons are taught following a tried and tested curriculum as one-to-one private lessons (or 1-3 people max), where you can go at your own pace. Flexible scheduling allows you to plan classes for when works best for you. We have options for complete beginners, intermediates through to advanced and seasoned pros who want to learn professional techniques. We will guide you with career mentorship, theory, and technical knowledge depending on your aspirations.
You will learn how to mix, the original way: by ear, on industry standard equipment, using the same equipment as found in clubs and festivals throughout the world- the classic Technics SL turntables, Pioneer CDJ players, Pioneer DJM professional club mixer as well as incorporating software such as Rekordbox, Serato & Traktor. Classes are taught in a professional recording studio by a professional DJ with experience of playing in clubs, bars, raves & festivals for thousands of people.
Level 1 – Beginner
This is the starting point for learning how to become a DJ, following a step by step hands-on process on the essentials of how to mix songs like a true DJ, using industry standard equipment.
It doesn’t matter if you only want to DJ as a hobby or for the purpose of becoming a professional in the art of beat mixing, the Ontempo Level 1 course is the first step of a rewarding and enjoyable journey into the world of DJing.

Level 2 – Intermediate
Following on for those who have completed Level 1 or for those who already play and have some mixing knowledge, we have developed the Ontempo Level 2 course.
In this course you will learn how to enhance your mixing techniques and take your mixing to the next level, with correct frequency equalisation, the use of onboard effects and filtering, as well as learning how to use industry standard DJ software, using the advanced features on CDJs and how to mix with Technics turntables.

Level 3 – Advanced
This level is for those who already have some DJing practice and want to become a professional DJ. Here you will learn how to plan for a perfect set, effectively read a crowd, create a set journey and how to create emotion through your musical selection.
You will learn advanced DJing techniques and tricks as used by professionals.
You will also learn how to market yourself and how to get those gigs.
